Welcome at the site of Stardale Holsteins Stardale Holsteins is renowned within the UK for being one of the countries most respected herds for both type and production. The herd is a major suppier of genetics within the UK, selling many females both privately and at auction and also recently supplying young sires to Cogent and genus ABS. The Stardale herd was formed over 50 years ago, and the breeding philosophy has remained the same producing long living, high component cows from sound cow families , with legs, feet and udders being a priority that financially contribute to the herd via the bulk tank and in the sale ring. The herd to date has bred over 200 EX cows and 12 100 tonne cows. Racognition of Stardale Holsteins outstanding conformation was achieved in 1999 when the Stardale herd was crowned Premier Holstein Herd of Holstein UK` s prestigious national herd awards compitition. It was most satisfying for the burrow family as the herd mainly consists of the famous home bred Vaakje, Stella and Honeybee cow families. Alongside these 3 world class cow families a selecton of the worlds most respected cow families have been purchased via embryos or females to supplement the best of British including the Roxy, Lulu, Vanessa, Gloriette, Ivory Mark, Lauren, Matt Misty, Gidget, Tab Maude, and most recently Elegance and Adeen. The Stardale pilosophy has been recognized internationally with a Holstein International herd feature and 2 HI cover girls. On 24 April 2006 virtually the entire milking portion of the Stardale Herd was sold with purchasers comming from the full breadth of the UK and N Ireland, With 214 lots averaging £ 3,008 .(4472 euros) with the 200 young stock forming the nucleus of the the new herd.
